Two Strike Noise - A Baseball History Podcast

Episode 41 - Unwritten Rules & Bats

12 Nov 2019

Description

They aren’t written down but we’re talking about them anyways, baseball’s unwritten rules. When is it ok to bunt when you’re being no hit? How should you always approach home plate? What is the magic word that every ump will toss you for using? We’ll tell you about them, just don’t write them down for the love of all that’s holy! Also, what’s up with baseball bats? How did we get from using spokes from a wagon wheel to ax handle bats? We review the history of bats as well as some unique stories and models that have been used throughout the history of the game. This week’s Wax Pack Heroes sees us opening 1991 Topps.   Wax Pack Heros on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvh7epD-mqT9qCIV7CNqhog We pull ALOT of commons in Wax Pack Heroes. If you've got those Tom Foley or Ernest Riles cards just sitting around you can donate those commons to charity and maybe spark a child's interest in baseball and collecting.
