Our guest today is Dr. Shabnam Bashir - a Breast & Colorectal oncosurgeon who has been the first postdoctoral Vattikuti Robotic Colorectal Fellow of India. She has the credit of being the first female organ-specific oncosurgeon of Kashmir to be trained in advanced Robotic surgeries. She has published extensively & is a major proponent of the fact that lifestyle alternatives can keep us healthy for long. She is a Fellow of the Association of Colorectal Surgeons of India, Fellow Association of surgeons of India, Member of Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow UK, and member of many prestigious surgical organizations of India. Active in Cancer awareness drives since 2017, she has touched thousands of lives through her various Cancer awareness talks at various organizations and reputed institutions including IIM Bangalore. This will be a two-part series where in the first part she talks about her journey into the world of surgery a path where she did break a lot of glass ceilings.
