What did Bina and Bing discuss in the opening of the episode?

Bina007 (Bina Dudlo Seven) 0:13
Hey everyone, welcome to the Vassals of Kingsgraves Soccer Cast 26, covering the World Cup in one of our final episodes. My name's Bina Dudlo Seven. As ever, I'm joined by Dr. Football Bing. Hello. And today we're going to be covering the semi-final matches of the World Cup and maybe previewing the final. So, as ever, we're going to go in the order actually in which they were played, but also my World Cup war planner. And we start with France, Spain being prophetically claimed that maybe Spain were going to be France's kryptonite. So too it proved with Spain winning 2-0. Scoring a penalty in the 22nd minute, Porro coming in in the fifty-eighth minute with an assist from Olmo. Basically, France and all their fancy dance strikers just out possessed, out midfielded.
Bina007 (Bina Dudlo Seven) 1:05
By a terrifyingly consistent Spain. Bing, thoughts on this match? This is not how people thought it was going to go. France for odds on favorites, be in the final, if not win. I certainly thought they'd win. I even, I think, said on the podcast that I thought they'd win easily, which is ludicrous in retrospect. Um, so I have nothing to say. My credibility is short, but how are you feeling about this match?
Bing (Dr. Football Bing) 1:27
So again, I've I forgot if I mentioned this in that in the last podcast. Um the the teams that win Flashly don't always win the World Cup. Um, it's often teams that sort of just starts kinda slowly. Um, but they their can their results gradually improve over time. Um, that was actually how Spain won back in two thousand fourteen. They started by losing to Switzerland in a group stages, just like how this World Cup they started by drawing Cape Verde zero zero. Um
Bina007 (Bina Dudlo Seven) 1:59
Yeah, but then we all then realized that Cape Verde were bat much better than we'd all arrogantly presumed, right? So yeah. And and as you rightly pointed out in the Discord server, which folks, if you're not on the Vassals of Kingsgrave Discord, please do come join us there. You pointed out that that there have been many Spain-France matchups in recent years and Spain has won all of them, right? So it's not like This should not have been such a surprise to everybody.
Bing (Dr. Football Bing) 2:26
Well, I mean, look, uh, it's easy to get impressed, right, with France's when when France is completely Um on form, they're doing everything that they want. They look fant fantastic. That's the problem. They haven't faced any team that were able to just take away their toys. Just completely. Um it's not easy to do what Spain did. Um, but they are one of the few teams that can do this to France.

How did Spain manage to defeat France in the semi‑final?

Bing (Dr. Football Bing) 2:52
The other one's actually Portugal. But you know, their manager and all that. Um because Since twenty eighteen when they actually won the World Cup, France no longer has that sort of midfield. They're able to contest with the best of the best. They used to have Paul Pogba, uh, when he was still extremely, extremely good. And and this and this guy's probably the most important, Ngola Kante. N'golakante just cleans up everything behind the flare players up front and just creates the foundation in which they can just continue. continuously come at you wave after wave after wave, even against the best of the best. Without someone like Ngelocante, I mean guys like so they had Choameni in, right, at a start of this game.
Bing (Dr. Football Bing) 3:35
Choemeni's not a guy. And he's also coming off injury as well as poor form at Real Madrid. He literally got punched by uh oh no, he he punched Federico Valverde at Real Madrid hilariously this season. Um his captain. Um so he he's not coming into the ambassador.
Bina007 (Bina Dudlo Seven) 3:53
He punched his not the opposition's captain, but his own
Bing (Dr. Football Bing) 3:55
No yeah, his own team in yeah, at Real Madrid. Um it's you want to read that up, it's a whole hilariously fun story. Um, at least for anybody who doesn't support real matrix. Oh yeah, no, he's n um and Rabia was n is never that guy. Um they're all pale imitations to that Pogba Ngolo Kante sort of dynamic. And and they don't even have guys like, I don't know, Remember Musa Cisoko, that guy that he I mean he's not very good, but he runs and runs like a maniac every time he put put he's put in the game.
