We are happy to have one of our favorite guests on today's show, Dr. Michael Greger, MD. Dr. Greger has a new book out about the Bird Flu Virus (H5N1) called Bird Flu: A Virus of Our Own Hatching, which paints a terrifying picture of what can happen if this fierce virus mutates enough to achieve human to human transmission. Dr. Greger explains the threat and how it is tied to modern factory farming practices. He also lets us know what we can do to protect ourselves in the event that a human flu pandemic does occur. Also on today's show we have Ember Swift, a kick-ass Canadian vegan singer-songwriter who writes politically charged music which ranges stylistically "from jazz to funk to folk to punk". We talk to Ember by phone and play two of her songs about vegan issues. Finally we feature an interview with David Garfinkel, who has was in the studio filming us for a documentary of Valley Free Radio (where we do our live FM broadcast). When we couldn't get either of our guests on the phone we had Dave give us a lively little interview. In the News: Genetic Engineering Creates Cattle Without Prions, Taiwan Breeds Green-Glowing Pigs, FDA Says Food From Cloned Animals Is Safe To Eat, High IQ Linked To Being Vegetarian Get full access to Don't Forget to Breathe at www.dontforgetyoga.com/subscribe
