One of the main barriers for physicians who want to take a sabbatical is finding coverage for clinical responsibilities. Dr. Gebauer is connecting physicians who want to go on sabbatical with doctors who want to cover for them. Dr. Gebauer is a physician, data expert, and consultant with extensive administrative and quality experience. She attended Stanford Medical School, completed an anesthesiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco and a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the San Diego Hospice Institute for Palliative Medicine. After fellowship, she joined the faculty at the University of New Mexico and she completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Informatics. In 2017, she and her family moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she is a partner in her private practice anesthesiology group and the founder of the town's palliative care clinic. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and serves as a consultant to several medical start-ups. Her husband and four school-age kids love to ski past her down the mountain.Her family recently embarked on a five-month sabbatical to help her kids learn to speak Spanish, see the world, and spend time together.
