Dr. Catherine Toomer is a TEDx speaker, certified hypnotherapist, and a Family Medicine & Community Health physician - founder TOTAL Weight Care Institute - a virtual coaching platform for patients to optimize their health and wellness through weight loss, and for clinicians to provide comprehensive and compassionate weight health care through targeted health and wellness measures for those who feel like they are at the end of their rope. Dr. Toomer began creating what became her signature program twenty years ago when she was obese, an insulin dependent diabetic, and diagnosed with congestive heart failure, but was told she was too high risk when seeking help to lose weight and control her diabetes. Using the program she developed, she lost 60 pounds in 6 months, got off insulin, and survived her CHF when told she had a 50% chance of living 5 years.
