Hey, what is up? Welcome to this episode of the Entrepreneur to Entrepreneur Podcast. As always, I'm your host, Brian Lofermento. It's really cool. If you meet someone who's been successful once, then they made some right decisions along the way. If you meet someone who's been successful twice, well, they figured something out. There's no doubt about that. But if you meet someone who's been successful in so many different categories and so many different arenas, time after time, then that becomes Becomes a pattern. And trust me, today's guest and fellow entrepreneur is somebody who has achieved such a pattern of success in his career. I'm so excited to introduce him to you. So let me introduce you to today's guest.
His name is Andrew Safnauer. Andrew has done a lot of things in his career. He's won an Emmy for voiceover work. He's led creative teams for one of America's largest broadcast companies. He's owned automotive dealerships, restored classic cars, and most recently built an entire luxury vehicle wholesale organization from scratch in under seven months. He's also owned franchises, developed apps, and even got thanked on a hip-hop album. Yes, one guy did all of that. Now he leverages this cross-industry experience to help growth companies navigate complex. challenges as both a strategic consultant and a leadership advisor.
Trust me, this guy is incredible. You're gonna love his energy. You're gonna love his story and most importantly, we're gonna learn a lot from him. So I'm not gonna say anything else. Let's dive straight into my interview with Andrew Saffnauer. Alright Andrew, I am so very excited that you're here with us today. First things first, welcome to the show. Thanks, bro. I'm glad to be here.
Andrew, it's it's funny that you beat me to the punch there because truth be told, as a host of this show, thirteen hundred plus episodes, I have grown so fond of introducing people because I I I have a tendency of seeing the awesome in so many different people. So you're a fun one to introduce, but it also means that there's a high bar that you're gonna have to live up to today. So I'm gonna kick it I'm gonna kick it back to you. Take us beyond the bio. Who's Andrew? How'd you start doing all these cool things?
I started in radio um back uh post-college. I went to school um at Ohio University and um I got into radio um out of school and so I was um uh a pretty mid-level DJ, not very good at that, but I was uh better working in the production studio and being creative, and so I moved into that um for a couple of years and then um was fortunate to move to some bigger markets over time. That's really the way you grow in in the radio business. And And then the last job I had was in Atlanta. And in 2005, I led a group of stations with 67 stations. It was it was a a really interesting, crazy sort of job for a guy that wasn't really that old, was in my early 30s. And I realized then that the time was really ready for me to go out and do my own thing.
I had a lot of clients outside my job. The job was fairly stressful. I just didn't love it uh anymore. And so I moved from Working at the radio station, the group of stations there, and uh moved from Atlanta to Charlotte, North Carolina and uh built a studio here and operated that for a number of years, um, doing vo both voiceover and audio projects for TV and radio and uh corporate and all kinds of stuff. Was fortunate to win some awards, like you mentioned. That was really cool. And then um along the way, you know, I kept getting bit by the entrepreneurial bug. Really In the end, um people have come to me and opportunities have come to me because I'm I'm known as a guy that gets things done. And so um the apparel brand came to me because uh I had a friend that had this idea when he was on his honeymoon and he called me and said, I've got this idea for this swimsuit, I don't know what to do.
And so that was my role was was going from napkin to to actual product and which is crazy when you think about just an idea that you have written down on a napkin and then you realize in eighteen months there are, you know, thousands of people that are wearing your your product.
