Big news morning, too, by the way, followed by Simo. So so great listening there. And I know you just played the Justin McIntyre News via Dean Cox. So plenty happening, but the story of the day is no doubt about it. The GWS captain choosing Geelong as his club of choice for next year and beyond. Put some detail around it for us. So it is a three-year deal. Now the the cats were hit hard when they were told they'd missed on Zach Butters, but they're thrilled with this. They were informed this morning, just like GWS were, that uh this path that the cats have been on since early in the year.
They first opened dialogue with Toby Green's management towards the start of twenty twenty six has ended with him telling them that he's keen to play in the hoops. Now it's a three year contract with performance incentives, nothing unusual there, but it isn't and won't ever be as much. much as one million dollars a season. Now they uh they didn't improve their offer either, the cats. I know there were some reports along those lines, but there was always a if butters comes offer and always an if butters does not come offer. So that's why um that probably came to light in that if if Zack Butters had chosen Geelong then clearly Given the size of that move, that would have had a ripple effect.

I mean, you only had to listen to Toby once or twice to realise the depth of his consideration. Considerations, particularly when it came to other pieces of various clubs' puzzles. He's been open. He also desperately wants to win, and he wants to win a flag. So I think he wouldn't be going to Geelong if he didn't think they wouldn't be contending in 2027. So I'm not sure if there's going to be a ripple effect here or not.
You suspect not. I mean, George Stevens might have been on the move anyway. I know Brad Close has come up, he's contracted for two more. Grian Myers has come up, he's contracted for two more. more so I'm not saying one affects the other. Um clearly if Zach Butters had chosen Geelong there might have been a conversation in that space with those two guys, Grian and Brad, but that's not the case now. So I think he joins a Geelong side that it will be absolutely stacked in the front half. Like imagine Toby running around with with Patty and uh and Jeze and then you've got Grian Myers there as well. You've got Brad close, you got Oli Henry. How are they all gonna you got the dragon? How are they all gonna fit in there?
