great, you know, I'm great, you know. Uh look, I have nothing co to complain about because Who wants to hear complaints? Yeah.
Okay, so let's just let's jump into things. So season nineteen of Married at First Sight just aired. Nineteen seasons is insane. How did you first get involved with the show?
Sixteen seasons ago. Uh my wife and I had been doing um uh marriage uh coaching and we had been um doing conferences and online coaching and just a a lot of stuff we've been doing practically our whole marriage. And we were actually contacted by a uh casting agent who wanted us to find a couple for one of their other shows. Uh Kinetic Content is a producer. Produ uh the production company. We w they want us to find a a um a couple for one of their other shows way back in the day called Seven Year Switch.
Uhhuh.
So we found them a coup a couple and they they love the couple. But while the couple was on the show, they kept talking about us and well yeah, they would say, you know, that was that's not what Pastor Cal said. That's not what Winnie said. So, you know, the more we talked, they wanted to talk with us uh and film us in a session with that couple. So while we were doing that. Um, they were texting the EP and the cameraman was texting the EP, and the the the showrunner was texting texting uh uh Chris Colen, and it was just a a lot going on saying though you gotta hear this guy, you gotta really listen to this couple. So we had a meeting and they asked me what I felt about the show and how would I change things and what would I do, and I gave them some very straightforward advice.
Uh some of my appearance. opinions and uh they liked it. Yeah. So uh they asked me to be a part of the show and the rest is history.
The rest is history. That is amazing. And you have been such a staple on the show. Your presence is so needed there. Like you are, when I think expert, I'm like, Pastor Cal,
expert. Aww.

Oh please. Let's talk about your wife Wendy. The two of you work together as a team. What is that like and how do you and Wendy like helping out couples?
Oh yeah. Well you know what? It's funny because Wendy and I we're we're both second timers. We tell people that, you know, openly and honestly. You know, we we made some very stupid mistakes. Uh well, we didn't, but you know, our marriages were mistakes. The first time around we got married very dumb and very, very, very young.
Yeah.
And uh, you know, those didn't work. But we found each other uh about eighteen years ago and we've been married for seventeen years now. And uh at the beginning of our marriage we decided that we're going to make sure that we do what's necessary to help couples avoid some of the pitfalls of marriage, uh, you know, of of of of of some of the pitfalls you can fall into and some of the issues that that can arise just out of out of bad decisions, you know. Um and we feel that we both actually uh came from came from environments that were not healthy. And so we decided that we're gonna do everything within our power. So we started talking to couples. And as we talked to couples, it got better and better.
And then it grew and grew. And before we know it, here we are now, you know, uh roughly about seventeen, maybe about sixteen years, we've been doing this. You know, I was doing I was a marriage uh counselor long before her as a pastoral counselor. But uh her with a nursing background, she came aboard and she's it's been incredible. She brings a different perspective.
