This is so exciting. I've wanted to interview you for such a long time, Michael.
I was talking to you in the back. It's weird for me because normally I'm in that chair. Right. And I'm asking all the questions. So this is going to be a little odd for me. So bear with me today, guys. And I'm glad you showed up. I hope you're having a great time. This has been an unbelievable weekend. And I'm just so honored to be here with Stephanie and Elise today.
Well, you know, Triple H came out. He's front and center here. Nice to see you.
You look a bit older, though. All that stress of the job, right?
He's kind of growing his hair out a little bit.

He is. You'll see at the press conference today, there's like, you know, there's a little fuzz going on. Yeah. Yeah, then you have to grow yours. It's a whole thing. But you had a great entrance yesterday, I heard. Yes, yes. Very cool. Very cool. The Fanatics Fest is awesome.
This is my second year. Last year I did some events and we all hosted our kickoff show, which we're doing again a little bit later on today. It's just amazing for us to be able to give back to all the fans. Obviously, you know better than anyone, Steph, we would not be in these chairs today if it wasn't for them. Amen. Amen. Yeah. Despite the fact that a lot of you guys are really hard on me online, I understand all that. I get it. No, seriously, thank you guys for being here today. I really appreciate it. It's not lost on me that you guys showed up here today to be a part of this.
But so, Michael, as a part of my research, can you tell us a little bit about how you got your start in journalism in general? Because you covered some pretty major world events. Tell me about that, because actually we've never discussed this before. I really didn't know much about it at all.
So I went to Syracuse University to the Newhouse Broadcasting School, which is still today one of the best in the world. I actually went to be a sportscaster initially, and I worked with Mike Tirico, who many of you might know. Mike was a really good friend of mine. We graduated together. We called Syracuse football and basketball games together. In fact, I was awarded the Bob Costas Sports Scholarship my senior year at Syracuse as being one of the most promising. That's pretty cool. sportscasters when i got out of school though it was real difficult to get a sports job at the time i was offered a job to work for west virginia university i had no interest in moving to morgantown so i decided to go down the route of news which i had some training in at college as well
And I just started doing some news, and I ended up becoming one of the youngest network news reporters that was ever hired out of school. I was based out of Houston. I worked for CBS News before being transferred to New York. So for about eight years or so, I was a news reporter in radio. Did not do any television. Right, right. It was radio, which is my first love because there's just such a beauty in being able to tell stories without pictures and to be able to let your words and your voices, you know, tell the stories for you. And through those early 90s, and I know many of you here, except for Triple H in the front. Are too young to remember a lot of the news stories that shaped the 1990s. But I was a part of a lot of those.
