Hello and welcome to number 115! This week I am joined by Tor Midtboe who I met in Nepal when doing the Langtang Valley Trek. I first spotted Tor legging it past me as I was crawling up the trail toward Langtang Village then I managed to catch him in Kyanjin Gumpa. We met at a cafe and got chatting about travelling then five hours later we wandered back to our guesthouse. What really intrigued me was that Tor was trail-running the Langtang trek and then hiking back to Kathmandu afterwards. I wanted to hear firstly how was it combining both travel and trail-running and secondly in altitude like Nepal.A month later, we caught up on Zoom for this interview where we discuss his 7-month backpacking adventure in Asia then we delve into the trail-running portion of that trip. We talk about racing in Thailand, an amazing trail in Taiwan and of course, our time in Nepal in Langtang. A classic backpacking tale this one with a slight twist in terms of the niche of running whilst travelling.
