Kara Frair is the founder of More Than Skill, a Cleveland-based program helping youth athletes develop the mental strategies they need to perform and thrive—on the field and in life. A certified meditation practitioner, Kara is also a two-time childhood cancer survivor and the mom of a one-pound micro-preemie who spent seven months in the NICU. Those experiences of resilience and hope fuel her passion for teaching young athletes confidence, focus, and emotional strength. Through private coaching, workshops, and digital resources, she equips both athletes and their parents with tools to navigate pressure and overcome what she calls “nerve pauses,” the mental hurdles that can derail performance. Kara also hosts the More Than Skill Podcast, where she shares practical mindset tips for parents, coaches, and athletes. Her mission is to show youth athletes that mastering your thoughts is the first step to mastering anything.
