Spinal health is key in yoga practice. All movement originates in the spine and eventually feeds back to the spine. The spine influences our posture and the health of our internal systems. It is the channel through which the nerves pass in order to broadcast information throughout the body, like a radio mast. According to the ancient texts, the spine houses the central energy channel(shushumna nadi) through which Kundalini (awakening energy) flows to connect us with our higher consciousness. So here's a little something to help you keep it in shape. We all benefit from postures that release tension and strengthen the back.
