Welcome to The Tech Capital, where we have an exclusive interview with David Bloom, the newly appointed chairman of Kao Data, a UK-based developer and operator of high-performance data centres for enterprise, cloud, HPC and AI. Before taking on this role, Bloom founded Goldacre in 2012, which later merged with the NOÉ Group. In 2014, he launched Kao Data, and recently, in 2022, the platform acquired facilities in West London marking its first expansion outside its flagship campus in Harlow. In his first interview in the capacity of chairman, Bloom discloses the responsibilities the new role entails beyond his involvement in the business thus far and his leadership style. Having managed over £500 million of equity investment in the technology, data centre, and start-up sectors, Bloom also navigates us through the group’s plans to leverage this expertise to guide Kao Data's expansion into new territories, both domestically and internationally. With projects on European soil on the horizon, Bloom also explains the key factors that he considers when it comes to identifying new opportunities for site acquisition and development.
