Ep. 7 - Hypopressive Fitness: A Core Exercise You’ll Definitely want to Know More About

07 Feb 2023

Description

In this episode we talk with Trista Zinn. Trista has been a Personal Trainer in the Fitness Industry for just over 30 years. In 2012 I began streamlining her specialty to only seeing clients for Hypopressive Training. She is a Master Trainer for Hypopressive Technique and a  Hypopressive Course Instructor specializing in core and pelvic health. Follow us @pelvicorerehab and share any questions you have on Pelvic Health or share your experience overcoming Pelvic Health related issues.   Epsiode Notes:   In 2012 Trista Zinn was diagnosed with stage 2 bladder prolapse.   As a personal trainer for over 20 years, she was determined to find a holistic approach to her recovery - something other than surgery - which led her to train in the Hypopressive technique. With a decade of personal and professional experience in Hypopressives she continues to passionately spread the word and help others with this revolutionary approach to core and pelvic health. Trista Shares: Hypopressives use postures and poses with an apnea. It is a whole body exercise and can offer a deep myofascial release from deep within. Hypopressives retrains the reflexivity and automaticity of the deep core system  It is a breath practice that uses rest breaths and apneas to decrease pressure. Hypopressives activate your muscles reflexively as opposed to active recruitment of Kegels.  It is a practice and a flow that can be restorative and a great maintenance exercise.  Hypopressives help with neuromuscular retraining and proprioception. It can help those who do not feel connected to their pelvic floor and have a difficult time actively recruiting. Words Matter- We need to use caution when describing  what is going on in a client's body. We need to be honest but not pathologizing. Hypopressives can help with constipation, digestion, fascial release, nervous system regulation, pelvic organ prolapse, postpartum recovery. Avoid trying to learn the technique from online videos, it is so important to be sure that your technique is correct to get the benefit of it but also to be sure that you are performing it in a way that decreases pressure and not increasing intra-abdominal pressure Trista’s Takeaways:  Be patient with yourself. It is a journey and along the way you will need to offer yourself the same kind supportive words you would offer a dear friend traveling along the similar journey. We can me sooo hard on ourselves. Listen to your body and be open to try new things and see what resonates the best with you.   Where to find more of  Trista: Instagram: instagram.com/hypopressives.can  on Instagram and  Web:coresetfitness.com  Web:https://hypopressivescanada.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Coresetfitness?mibextid=LQQJ4d YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/@tristazinn2170 Visit me at:   My Website: https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/   Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/pelvicorerehab   Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pelvicorerehab/   Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pelvichealthplus   YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCiEl1ZFlA5SzN44MhUwzgA?view_as=subscriber     Ebook Books links   Pregnancy Ebook:  https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/pain-free-pregnancy-guide   Bladder Leaking Ebook https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/leaking   8 steps to achieving pelvic healing  https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/   Pelvic Pain, Bladder leaking, and 8 steps to achieve pelvic healing https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/pelvicfloorguides   Pelvic Pain  https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/pelvicpain   Menopause Guide https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/menopauseguide   Postpartum ebook https://www.pelvicorerehab.com/headtotoewellnessformommyandbaby
