筋萎縮性側索硬化症（ALS）患者へのエダラボン点滴治療は、改訂ALS機能評価尺度（ALSFRS-R）スコアの低下抑制効果が早期例において示されていることから、現行ガイドラインでは条件付きで推奨されています。この薬剤は抗酸化作用により疾患進行抑制に寄与すると考えられています。一方で、非気管切開生存期間の延長、呼吸機能の低下抑制、生活の質（QOL）の改善効果は、現時点では高いエビデンスが示されていません。投与においては、継続的な点滴が必要であり、腎機能障害や肝障害などの副作用に留意する必要があります。本推奨は、有益性が有害性を上回る可能性が高いという独立パネル委員会の判断に基づき決定されています。Writing Group; Edaravone (MCI-186) ALS 19 Study Group.
