今回のエピソードでは、患者さんとの信頼関係について、あえて「医師の視点」から深掘りしたオーストラリアの研究をご紹介します。本研究は、一般開業医（GP）25名を対象としたインタビューを通じ、医師から患者への「信頼」がどのように形成されるかを質的に分析したものです。結果として、医師は診療の出発点において、まず「患者の言葉を信じる」ことを前提としている（Default Trust）ことが明らかになりました。この信頼は、患者が自身のケアに主体的に関与し、相互的な治療関係が築かれる中で時間とともに深まっていきます。一方で、二次的な利益（オピオイド処方や書類作成など）を目的に患者が医師を操作しようとする場面では信頼が揺らぎますが、それでも医師は専門職としての倫理観から、治療関係の維持に努める傾向があることが示されました。Uebel K, Yong FR, Agaliotis M, Pathirana T, Nguyen JDT, Chan C, et al.
