2024年8月2日の東京株式市場は続落しました。終値は前日比2216円63銭（5.81%）安の3万5909円70銭で取引を終えました。下げ幅はブラックマンデー翌日の1987年10月20日（3836円安）以来およそ36年10カ月ぶりの大きさで、今年最大、史上2番目の下げ幅となりました。 米新規失業保険申請件数、ISM指数など米国の景気関連指標が市場予想を下回り、下げの引き金となりました。利下げ期待で盛り上がる準備をしていた市場は景気後退の懸念で大きく修正されました。
