I myself am a big fan of Econtalk and have listened to a lot of excellent Econtalk episodesToday we will talk about a recent book of Prof Roberts, called How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life: An Unexpected Guide to Human Nature and Happiness.Adam Smith is a world famous name. I remember that the first time I came to this name was in a library of the middle school that I went to in China. On the wall of the library, there were quite a few posters of world-leading scientists and their quotes. There were figures such as IssacNewton and Charles Darwin, and Adam Smith with his quote of the invisible hand was one of them. Most people know Adam Smith as one of the greatest economists in human history, and the founding father of modern economics. His classic, the wealth of nation, is probably one of the most widely circulated and printed books of economics in human history. Not many people, however, know that Adam Smith also wrote another excellent book, called the theory of moral sentiments. Prof Roberts’ book is really about this less famous book of Adam Smith. We will discuss it in more details in today’s conversation. Our contact: [email protected]
