Good morning. Good morning everybody. I'd like to call the meeting to order. It's December twelfth Commission meeting. Uh And uh I'd like us to ask uh everybody to rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. Um and I'd like to ask uh our our traveler to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance committee.
I pledge the leaders to the flag of the United States of America and to a republic for which it stands, one nation, under

indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Okay. Uh remains standing, please, for a moment of silence. Uh it is customary that we observe a moment of silence for uh in honor of notable persons uh from our community who have recently passed. Colleagues, do you have uh anyone? I'll begin with uh on s uh Commissioner J Mackenzie. Any Is it about it? Commissioner Rogers.
Thank you very much. Um Good morning. I would like to recognize Mike Saint Jean, a ten year old boy who was shot in the neck while inside his Lauder Hill home. Mike live a short, impactful life. He will be greatly missed by his schoolmates, his teachers and school administrators. He leaves behind two grieving siblings and inconsolable parents. Paul and Berlin Saint Jean. We have not heard anything about the shooters, but That's a life gone too soon. The mother of my good friend, pastor фран франфорил о Шалом Ком'юніті Чуч. That's passed and we wish uh you know, we just console the family and offer condolences. We also lost a pioneer in nursing field on november twenty ninth. Miss Myrna Eileen Branker. Myrna was a train blazer who inspired and shaped the lives of many nurses throughout the United States and abroad. She was the first black representative for the New York State Nurses Association. in the United States she spearheaded the campaign to give nurses the right to work three day shift, twelve hours If you're in the seventies. That was in the seventies.
I don't know what we are doing today. She was also the first black and female administrator of the Brooklyn hospital. Myrna will be greatly missed. I'm from Brooklyn, you know, so I had to recognise my friends from Brooklyn. Thank you very much.
Thank you, Commissioner. Um, I would also like to just recognize the uh passing of retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, first woman to serve on the Supreme Court, who died at the age of ninety-three. Also, I would just like to recognize since many of us uh well maybe not of some ages but of others uh um Uh recognize the name Norman Lear, who was the producer of many, many shows, including All in the Family. And uh he died at the age of a hundred and one. Uh let's keep them and all of these families in our prayers. Let us also honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces, both here and abroad, and thank them for their service and their families as well. We'll pause for a moment of silence.

I I uh did not call him because I know he did not have a moment of uh someone to recognize under the moment of silence. So uh welcome Commissioner Fisher. I'm sorry not to see you at my left here. I'd like to also thank Commissioner Fisher. Uh uh the music today was uh brought by uh uh Commissioner Fisher. Uh it's the most wonderful time of the year by Garth Brooks, and Let There Be Peace on Earth by Vince Gill. Let's all say amen to that.
