The first one you probably heard was called The Laughing Song by George W. Johnson. And that is, it's actually notable because it's the first major recording by a black artist. Ever, ever. And to find those kind of things, those little gems, you just have to go to the Library of Congress. And I think it's important for everybody to know that all that stuff's available, given that we're, the way that history's getting a little bit of whitewashing, so to speak. So it's good to be able to know where to go to find the original sources, which is why I included it. The second song was Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen.

Valentine's Day is coming up, thought it was fitting. So we have one proclamation today. This is to honor Kelly Shanley of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, who will be leaving for his next adventure soon. And it will be presented by Commissioner Fischer. But before it begins, I understand we have a video to honor him. Can we cue that?

He is somebody who's not afraid to take a chance and you can see by what he has done here at the Broward Center His ability to go and be present in so many levels of our community and make real actions happen is so impressive. Not only is forward thinking, but he wants to be a problem solver. For the last 25 years as general manager and then CEO, Kelly Shanley has been many things to many people. But one word they can all agree on is that Kelly is an inspirational collaborator who has grown the impact of the Broward Center from a regional theater complex to a network of world-class stages and facilities that hum with artistic energy from a vibrant and diverse community. What stands out for most of us about Kelly is his passion for arts and culture.
