I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be back and not be sitting at home on Zoom feeling like you're back in the COVID days. So I'm really excited to be back here with all of you today. And I just want to thank all of you for the attention that you paid. calls and messages and all the assistance that you all gave to me as well as our staff. So just want to thank everybody for that. I really appreciated it. Okay, so This morning, I would like to invite someone who has been sitting in this chair for over three months to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and I want to thank Vice Mayor Beam for all of his help during this time of need for me. Thank you.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is customary that we observe a moment of silence in honor of notable persons from our community who have recently passed. Is there anyone, colleagues, anyone who has someone you would like to remember at this time? Commissioner Spogan?
Ms. Hannelore Temel, she was 94 years old, of Parkland. Her son George lives around the corner from me in Parkland. She passed away Monday, April 22nd. She was born in Chechia and she was known to her friends as Hannah. She was a Holocaust survivor and she shared many stories about the different hardships that she suffered throughout her life and how hard it was to stay alive and battle through the Holocaust. She shared those with students through the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center. And she was featured on NBC Miami for some of her works and her stories. And she will be greatly missed by the community. And my condolences to George and the rest of her family. And I ask that you keep them in our prayers.

Okay, I do have one thing. I would just like to, all of you have seen it in the paper for weeks, but I would like to just remember Senator Bob Graham. He was a dear friend. I knew him for many years, as many of you did too. He was truly a statesman. He was a humanitarian, and he was a humane leader. We could use more people like him today. He was focused, whatever he did, he was focused on public service and he will continue to be recognized for that because of the legacy he has left by creating the Bob Graham Center for public service at the University of Florida. And I just would like to mention that in Miami Lakes on Saturday, May 11th from 1 to 2.30, former Governor Graham and U.S. Senator Bob Graham will be remembered in a public celebration of life at the Miami Lakes United Church of Christ.
And for those who cannot attend in person, The service will also be livestreamed on WPLG Channel 10. And following the service, the Graham family will host a reception at the Miami Lakes Hotel from 3 to 5 p.m. And at that time, people will get to share their memories of Senator Graham with the family and others that are there. So let's just all keep that family in our prayers. We lost a giant in our community, our state, our nation, and the world. Let us also honor all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces, both here and abroad, and thank them for their service. Please pause for a moment. We'll pose for a moment of silence. Please take your seats.

Okay, got to get used to this again. Okay, welcome to the meeting, everybody. As many of you have just heard, it's my first meeting back in three, not that I'm counting, three months and two weeks. But a lot of progress has been made, thankfully. I want to thank everyone again, and many of you out there in the audience who have reached out to me and wish me a speedy recovery. The music today was selected by Commissioner Mark Bogan, who was also back with us after some surgery, and we're happy to have him with us.
