Thank you. Please remain standing. Ladies and gentlemen, it is customary that we observe a moment of silence in honor of notable persons from our community who have recently passed away. Colleagues, does anyone have someone that you wish to remember during the moment of silence? Commissioner Hay Rogers. Thank you and good morning to everyone. I am recognizing the mother of my pastor who passed away two days ago. Just wondered she has planted a lot of seed in me. So you will see it blossom sometimes. Thank you, Mayor. Just want to recognize um a former uh city commissioner for the city of Tompano Beach, George Brummer, who served for many, many years. His wife passed away uh two days ago, so and Brummer. So we want to remember uh they were truth dear friends to us and remember the Brummer family in prayer. Thank you.

Uh Mayor, I would like to uh recognize, you know, in two days we're going to have the uh the celebration, the eightieth anniversary of D Day And uh though it's been you know eighty years ago. Um, you know, the uh the courage, uh, you know, the lives that, you know, were put on the line for freedom for all of us. I mean, were, you know, an amazing feat from the greatest generation. So I just wish to recognize all those who serve.

Uh you beaten to it, uh Commission uh uh Commissioner Ryan, I also want to do that and just to say that twenty nine thousand uh American soldiers died on the invasion of Normandy. So it is certainly something important for us to remember in our history. Let us honor honor all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces, both here and abroad, and thank them for their service. A moment of silence.

Um I am the longtime uh representative of the county commission to the Broward County Cultural Council. Uh we have a tradition here that each commissioner pays for breakfast for the commission and staff on commission days, and whoever does that gets to also pick the music. Everyone uh picks their favorite music, Neil Diamond, Jimmy Buffett and Commissioner Bogan's case, it's always from Chicago.
