August 22nd and we are this is our first meeting back from recess so welcome everybody it's a problem okay all right okay okay So this is our first meeting back and we have a full agenda and then we have a budget workshop today as well. So welcome everybody. We're happy to have you with us. I would like to invite the new director of our animal care shelter to lead us, Doug Brightwell, in the Pledge of Allegiance today. Thank you, and good morning to everyone. I would like to acknowledge the passing of Tealak Mitra's mom. And I just heard, and he's in the audience with us this morning, so... My condolences to you, sir, and your family. Also, my staffer, Dwight Inkson, is that past Reverend Frank G. Inkson registered and resided in Kensington neighborhood of Coral Springs and father of Dwight Inkson. He was a member and sponsor of the Broward Alliance of Caribbean Educators, BRACE, Inc. He was the founder and president of the Life and Light Ministry radio program, WEXI. He was a member of several Caribbean organizations such as the Barbados Cultural Association, South Florida, Inc., which he received the Community Service Awards for outstanding service to Barbadian community in Broward County in South Florida.

Thank you. Yes, I want to acknowledge the passing of Frank Sacco, who was incredibly instrumental in establishing the memorial health care system. Turned it into the third largest public health care system in the country. started out in housekeeping. He was the assistant director in housekeeping and worked his way up to become president. For all of us who live in the southern part of this county, it's wonderful to have the kind of confidence we have in that kind of a system. And it is not solely due to Frank, but largely due to Frank. He did a fantastic job, brought on incredible staff, and built a wonderful system. And so I'd like to give condolences to his family.

Yeah, it was an interesting summer, but we not celebrate, but remember on August the 28th, it'll be one year that the unfortunate helicopter accident happened in Pompano Beach where we lost Captain Pearson Jackson along with Miss Wheaton. We want to continue to keep those families in prayers and pray that that will never happen again. Also want to recognize Matt Morrill, who is a local attorney. The Morrill family has been around here for a couple of generations, and Matt was too young. We unfortunately lost Matt this summer. Jimmy James Jones out of Pompano was a lifelong educator and Blanchard High School principal, they named an auditorium after him when we lost Jimmy, and also was a founding member of the Ed Inouye chapter, the mega sci-fi in Pompano.
