We've b we've got a couple extras, so that's gonna take us a little longer to get through, but we have five of 'em and so I made that exception. Um yeah, it's quite a few. Uh the music today was selected by Commissioner Udeen.

know how to treat the basic things. How are you doing today? A lot of it. A lot of it. Today we are going to be commemorating one of the most historic landmark pieces of legislation in the United States, the Americans with Disabilities Act. American America isn't always perfect, but when you travel to other countries, I think you recognize that accessibility is really an area that goes above and beyond. Within that dedication, I am proud to say that Broward County itself has always been a national leader on ADA compliance. And as technology continues to evolve, so does how we adapt our ADA standards, including digital documents and innovative changes. We are fortunate to have a great team led by our professional standards division and in addition we have our advisory board for our for individuals with disabilities.

We are fortunate today to welcome John Neff and all And friends. Mm. And uh who uh John chairs that board as well as w wonders wonderful staff, so I'll read this today. Whereas on july twenty sixth, nineteen ninety United States took a historic step. Toward equality with the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act ADA by President George H.W. Bush. Landmark legislation that affirmed the civil rights of millions of Americans by prohibiting discrimination based on disability in all areas of public life. And whereas the ADA affirms that every person deserves the opportunity to live, work, learn, and thrive without barriers. And whereas the ADA is grounded in four guiding principles, full participation, equal opportunity, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency.
