Okay, good morning everybody. This is a broad board of county commissioners meeting of Tuesday, January twenty eighth, twenty twenty five. Happy New Year.

Uh please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. And Kim, welcome back. Please do it plead, please. Plegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, individual, with liberty and justice all. Please remain standing. Uh it is customary that we observe a moment of silence in honor of notable persons from our community who have recently passed. Uh colleagues, does does someone anyone have someone you wish to remember? I'll start with Commissioner McKenzie. I'm good to move. Okay.
I I do, Mayor. Um just a couple of folks. I want to recognize uh Randy Perkins, who died at the age sixty from ash grid, who actually I dealt with Ashbridge back in Pompano Beach days and Um really built the business for thirty two years and recently uh has passed away, so we want to keep him his family in in our prayers and of course uh I'm sure other colleagues will talk about Governor McKay and uh Jimmy Carter. And uh but I wanna personal note and I know that uh our Natalie Moffat, Director of Family Success Administration, recently passed away, so wanna keep sure that our family here. we keep in our prayers with them. So Thank you.

Oh yeah, that's right. And uh Mr Grisset, you wanna you wanna cover that? No you ca you can't. The Grissett family, we lost uh a very important leader in Pompano, um And Grissett family was very instrumental in building our Northwest community and very successful and just want to continue. One of his employees actually, one of his family members actually works for us here in Barrett County, Eddie Grissett, so keep them in prayer as well. Commissioner
Rich? Yeah, I remember I replied. Did you want to say anything else? Okay.
And I'll just add to because we share the same same district. He had that whole no this one city uh our blue, another uh um pillar uh In the uh Um Cargas City uh uh community. Uh as a matter of fact, that firehouse that we're doing the the nonprofit um deal with is right across the street from I's house, but um longtime community advocate, uh friend of my dad's and uh well, we We'll miss him. He will be missed. Thank you.
Okay. Commissioner Rich. Thank you. I just uh would like to uh ask us to remember uh former governor uh My buddy McKay. Um I tell you when I when I read all of the different Obituaries that were in the paper from the From the editorials and people that have known him for many, many years. including myself. Um, he is it's really a great loss, a man like that, who gave so much to this state, such a thoughtful А kind ман Директи а полісі овой. And uh it didn't matter, you know, what what what party, what anything. He he was the same to all people. Um and I I I wanna just bring up a I it's an interesting thing. I had an experience way back uh Uh with um When no. Kendrick Meek, uh representative Kendrick Meek was working for he went to work.
He was actually with the law enforcement at the time. State trooper. State trooper, correct. And he he um He was he he actually drove Anne McKay and and I to a hippie programme in in uh in Dade County at the time because uh that's home instruction for preschool youngsters if anybody might not know that.
