Thank you. Good morning everybody. Uh this is a Broward County Board of County Commissioners meeting of Tuesday, May sixth, twenty twenty five. Uh it is also National Teachers Day. Which is nice. Um we're first gonna rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. If everybody please stand. And like to have Drew Myers if you would lead us. But before you do, I just want to make sure you had a standing ovation. Because b because Drew Myers has just won the most prestigious and coveted award in his field in the city and county bar association. And let's I just wanna say
Right, okay. Thank you for the kind words and even uh more so for the honor of doing the pledge. Thank you. To the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Please remain standing. Uh ladies and gentlemen, it is customary that we observe a moment of silence in honor of notable persons throughout our community. And I'll start with Commissioner McKay I always start. I just look to the left. No, yeah, okay. Uh thank you, Mayor. Just want to recognize um A true gentleman that really was so helpful in um steering Pompano Beach for many years uh at a pendant zoning board level and then served as actually my vice mayor.
Uh during my tenure as Mayor Papua Beach and that was uh former mayor, excuse me, Vice Mayor George Brummer.
Oh.
He was a ninety four. Uh he lost his wife uh just a little year, so he made it just about a year. without Anne and uh the blessings is he's now with Anne. as they celebrate uh their eternal life together. But just wanna just was a true gentleman who truly believed in public service above himself. I mean he really was Palmer's number one advocate. And so uh he will be truly amiss. So thank you. Thank you. Center Richard. Mr. Ud. Okay. With that, um Let's all also honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces, uh both here and abroad, and thank them for th for their service and for a moment of silence.

I wanna first of all thank uh everybody for coming to the meeting. Enjoy it. Uh I wanna start by congratulating our Florida Panthers for beating Tampa. And that had a tough night a tough game last night, but first first part was good. We'll keep going. Music today was selected by Commissioner Rich. Thank you very much. Uh we have four proclamations today and then we're gonna have a presentation. So we're gonna start with um first proclamation is to acknowledge Mental Health Awareness Month. It will be presented by Commissioner uh Senator Nanrich to Sylvia Cantana, Doctor Stephen Ronick, Susan Niamora, Malita Akit Akiti Ak Akiti.
I know I'm getting that right. Jamie Fuentes, Paul Jackwith, Kathleen Cannon, Maria Hernandez, and Maddie Jones. If you all would make your way to the podium. Thanks. I know, this is the eighteen right here. This is for mental health awareness.

Whereas addressing the complex needs of children, young adults and families with mental health and substance abuse challenges is fundamental to the future of Broward County. And whereas he A priority should be set each year to direct our thoughts towards the health and well-being of individuals and families in our community.
