OK, good morning everybody. This is barely going through so soft and I'm loud. Already. Good morning everybody. This is about County Board of County Commissioners meeting of Thursday. August 21st. 2025. And it's slowly getting quieter. Thank you very much. If you would please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. And I'd like Bob Melton, who was greeting all our Doge guests, and I appreciate the tone you set. So thank you very much. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. If you would please remain standing. It's customary that we observe a moment of silence in honor of notable persons from our community who have recently passed.
Colleagues, does anyone have someone you'd like to recognize? Commissioner Davis.
Thank you, Barry, because we've been on recess. I just want to recognize a few folks. We lost a Pompano Beach pioneer, Lulu Bell Clark, a longtime pioneer of Pompano Beach, and she passed away at the age of 103. And her husband, I think, lived to be 106. So great genes in the Clark family. But also Tyler Chappelle's father. A lot of us know Tyler very well. Edwin Hugh Chappelle Jr. passed away as well this past summer and served on several city boards and county boards and just wanted to remember the Tyler family. And then lastly, just found out yesterday that the immediate past mayor, of Hillsboro Beach Debtorient lost her husband, Rich. So I want to just keep everybody in their prayers if you can. Thank you, Mayor.

Thank you, Mr. Mayor, and good morning to everyone. I would like to just recognize Mayor Sam Beauchelin of North Lauderdale. It's his father that passed and just born at 94, so he's lived a good life. The family know he did, so they're not sad, sad, sad, but whenever you lose someone, you feel it. So I just wanted to acknowledge my friend and tell him memories are forever and they're close. There was, I don't know if anyone recognized or know about it, there was a car accident on wherever, and six members of one family passed, and they live in North Lauderdale also. And I just wanted to acknowledge their young family members, and six of them passed. LOST THEIR LIVES. SO I WANTED TO LET THEM KNOW THEY'RE NOT FORGOTTEN.
AND THIS COMMISSIONER AND NOW MY COLLEAGUES ARE ALL THINKING ABOUT THE FAMILY. SO HANG TOUGH AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANK YOU ALL FOR

Thank you. And I know Commissioner Rogers is familiar with Lloyd McGee. Kind of slipped me for a minute. And he was co-owner of Marsha's Cafe. So he passed away from complications of diabetes. So I want to keep his family in our prayers. Thank you.
Thank you. I'm going to take a moment to recognize my baseball coach. Yeah, I know from South Broward coach Leonard cook who the South Broward field is named after More than that. He was a mentor to young men and he is Yeah, that's a sad day for all the Bulldogs in the county for South Broward Bulldogs. So coach Leonard cook you'll be missed with that Let's honor all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces both here and abroad and and thank them for the service. And let's take a moment of silence.

Yeah, but I threw a strike. A lot of serious things happened during the summer. We got dozed a little bit. But we're doing okay. We've got three proclamations and a presentation today. But I also first want to thank Lamar Fisher for his selections on music, Man in the Mirror, very good, by Michael Jackson.
