Good morning, thank you. Um Uh for the consent agenda, uh the only addition on the final agenda uh is Mayor Hardin. Uh he's in Washington D C this morning. He's gonna hop on Zoom if he's available, but he has the excuse absence um request and an abundance of caution. And then I would just add that uh Miss Fernandez contacted me yesterday that she um needed to be out of town and was going to try to be on Zoom, but I don't see her on here.

Yes, Mr. Chair. Uh
Oh.
Uh I have sent uh uh probably uh several items to you with regard to focusing on one piece of legislation that is making its way through the uh the uh legislature in the state of Florida. There are others I will at the next meeting we'll update you on those and probably update you on these, but one of particular note because of of of the importance for Broward County and the state is obviously State as a whole is HB nine forty-three. There are other simil bills that are dealing with similar issues. Hopefully they'll get into one uh I was gonna say one big beautiful bill, but one bill. And uh uh uh th they'll make their way into one bill. This Is as I said, I characterize it as breathtaking in its scope.
This has a lot of changes. I'm just going to touch on a few of them because you want me to stop talking after a while because because of the news I'm bringing. Uh to encourage the the whole concept here is to encourage uh the development of affordable housing, obviously a laudable goal. Uh this is the third iteration of the L Live Local Bill, and I think it's probably the most aggressive attempt yet. Uh one with regard to and this has rif effects outside of the affordable you know affordable housing. Um the definition of compatibility and this this this is important for our our work here in uh in in your comprehensive plan um uh because this is part of chapter one sixty three has been revised uh to to basically say not to say that
Residential is always compatible with residential. No matter what the character of the residential, no matter what the intensity of the res residential, residential is always compatible with residential. This could have effects on a lot of different areas. Uh a second thing that was in chapter one hundred sixty three is the a very strong advocacy of accessory dwelling units and single family homes. They have to be allowed. So uh there there are a number of issues. Those who deal it on the more uh those of us who have dealt on the more granular l level and at the cities are gonna have to grapple with this because there are there there are a number of issues. Uh and then uh as you recall, uh the Live Local started with say with just saying
it applied in commercial and industrial zoning districts. which was was the starter. Now it says that that really live local applies to any site owned by a municipality. a school district or a religious institution. Live local can apply. with no for instance of a ridig religious and and uh I have you know, for instance like the Catholic Church owns l loads of properties that they haven't I mean, just y you it's amazing the property that you find that the Catholic Church owns in in the county. Oh. That would it's a religious owned by a religious institution.
