Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Douglas A. Welton. I'd like to welcome you to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission's work session. This is the June 8th work session. Glad to have you here. We are meeting today online. And if you would like to join us in person, we're at 600 East 4th Street. We're up in room 267. Where's the other page that has the stuff that tells me what I'm supposed to say? It seems I should know this by now, shouldn't I?
I guess I did.
We're having a technical glitch moment with going to the next slide. There it is. All right, I've welcomed you. I've told you where we're meeting at. And this is the fun part. For viewing by the public and the media, this meeting is being streamed live on the Planning, Design, and Development Department's YouTube page. So that's where it will be.

We'll get started with our meeting and we will begin with introductions and I'm going to go to my left and introduce members of the Commission and we'll begin with Commissioner Caprioli. Thank you very much. We are missing a couple of commissioners this afternoon. We're missing Commissioner McDonald. And then we're also missing Commissioner Russell, whose truck is in a bad place. So he is, the word tow was in the text. So you know how life goes sometimes. Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield. We will now do introductions of staff and we'll begin with Ms. Holmes.

Thank you very much. As our first order of business, we will get a motion for the disposition of our minutes from the May 11th meeting. Do I hear a motion for the disposition of those minutes?
Gaston, I make a motion to approve the meeting minutes from the meeting. Second.
It's been moved by Commissioner Gaston and seconded by Commissioner Millen. All those in favor, please say aye. Aye. Any opposed? That passes and those minutes are accepted. All right. We've got a fun agenda for us today. We've got a couple of old friends for the Planning Commission visiting us today. We've got Dr. Chu giving us a state of the housing report. And we've also got Jen Schuster from the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte letting us know what the truth is about the Home Builders Association. But as we get started, we are going to do a Planning Commission leadership vote. And as you all know, last month, we um we had I guess two months ago a committee was formed to uh nominating committee was formed and that committee was Commissioner Gaston Commissioner Millen and Commissioner Neely they came back uh with uh an approved slate
And we also accepted nominations from the floor at that time. And at this moment, I'm going to open it up for any further nominations from the floor. I'm going to say this three times, I think. I'm supposed to say this three times. Are there any further nominations from the floor? Are there any further nominations from the floor? If not, then what we have our L has been nice enough to pass out everybody's got a Charlotte mecklenburg planning elections do to my Bob thing here, if you all will. write on that and check the boxes that you believe are appropriate for you and then we'll give L time to come around and collect those when everybody's finished and we will go on to our next order of business so if everybody will just take a quick moment and do those.
