And Commissioner Pamela Beasley Pittman says she's gonna be a little late, so we thought we'd just get a a jump on things um before she gets here, maybe uh cover a couple of the uh preliminary matters like the communications to the city. We have a communication from the uh Central City. Hold on to gotta download from the Central City uh redevelopment advisory board. Um This is a motion by uh Mr Ligitt, seconded by Mr Catalano, to adopt a new policy that the election of officers for the CRA board be conducted annually. Um anyone have any questions regarding this?

All right. Uh I you can hear me, but Go ahead. Yep. All right. So I'm here before you to discuss the outdoor event process. Um and for uh context, uh this particular presentation specifically talks about uh how we administer our outdoor events, which is permitted outside events. These are the events that require commission approval. Uh if there is If there is five hundred uh or more attendance, alcohol roll closures, uh, et cetera, amplified music. Um so that's for the purpose of this conversation. Now in prior conversations we have classified our events uh in minor, intermediate, and major. Uh minor of course constitutes events that have a sustained attendance of less than five hundred. Those also have uh road closures, music, exemptions, and amplified music with the uh alcohol.
Intermediate, uh five hundred and one and more. to up to five thousand and then our large events which we consider and classifying as major. are sustained attendance of over five thousand. To give a little context as far as how our process works is once we receive an application, which we recently started allowing these here applications coming through our online portal. Uh we coordinate with uh various departments that includes police, fire, uh, transportation mobility, uh, fire, and we also include the HOA presidents of those impacted in the area to further discuss and review the application and talk through those details. Once that process is completed, we then go into a conversations with our attorney's office and they draft the agreement and then that comes before you all um at commission.
We currently have uh for rates as it pertains is the application fee and the beach usage fee. Um those are the only fees that we assess. The only other charge that we include is city services uh that are billed to the third party.
Can we stop can we stop there for a second? So the beach sand usage fee, five hundred dollars per day. I know we've had some discussions here on the commission uh about the wear and tear that takes place whenever somebody uses the beach, whether it be for a large event, small event or whatever. Um do we find that there is significant wear and tear on the beach when a when a an event takes place there? And are we compensating ourselves sufficiently in order to rehabilitate the beach uh uh to bring it back to where it was before the event?
