second 2024. This will be our last conference meeting before we take the summer break. I want to thank everyone who's here today to participate. Before we begin, I just want to do a shout out to the NSU Art Museum where we're now conducting our meetings. We'll probably be concluding this schedule and returning to the Broward Center at our first meeting after the break. But the other thing I want to mention about the art museum is that this past week we were notified that the museum has been recognized as the number one museum in all of South Florida, which is an amazing tribute by the Miami New Times magazine. And they were very concerned that in Miami they couldn't find one museum that was better than ours and they had to go all the way up to Broward to find a good museum.

So I encourage those in Miami-Dade County to cross the border, take your passport with you and come visit this beautiful NSU Art Museum here in Fort Lauderdale. We have beautiful exhibits, especially our special exhibits that come here from time to time. They're internationally renowned and And I want to thank the CEO and Chief Bottle Washer here, Bonnie Clearwater. Bonnie, thank you so much for everything that you do. It's just an amazing talent. I want to thank your board for supporting you, and certainly the city continues to show its support to the museum year after year, providing tremendous opportunities for young kids and young adults to be able to witness and participate in the kind of art offerings that we have here in our beautiful city.

So having said that, I just would like to begin our afternoon agenda with our first presentation with Marty Kerr from the Broward County Property Appraiser and his team. Marty, welcome.

hear me pretty good? Yes, we can. Excellent. Well, thank you all so much for having me today. I promise, Mr. Mayor, I won't speak for too long. But before I talk, and before I talk about how our office can work with you all to help the residents of Fort Lauderdale, and all the great things that are happening in Fort Lauderdale when it comes to property, I wanted to thank you. You know, you and this commission, I think, have done a really spectacular job for the people of Fort Lauderdale. And as you'll see, the numbers that I have that I'm going to show you today, once again, are pretty big numbers. People are paying a lot of money for properties when they're coming to Fort Lauderdale. Businesses are really booming and people are very, very happy.

And I always believe that when people love a place and they want to come to a place and they enjoy that place that they live, so much of that is because of the great services provided to them by the city. And I think that you and this commission does an excellent job for the people of Fort Lauderdale. So I really appreciate that. And I also want to thank your staff. You know, there are 31 cities in Broward County. There is a huge county. And we work with the cities, the school board, the county commission, and just about every taxing authority where you have building provides us permits every single week. And we need those permits to be able to make sure we get everything on the tax roll so we can make sure that people pay their fair share of property taxes.

And I can tell you the city of Fort Lauderdale is so easy to work with. Your staff is excellent. They always return our phone calls. They answer all the questions that I have, even if they're not very good questions. And they're always very, very respectful to myself and our staff. And so I really appreciate that. And again, I think that's a testament to the leadership of this city commission, which I think is really awesome. And before I quickly talk about where... Oh, thank you. And before I quickly talk about where property values are, I was hoping to quickly talk for the residents about how our office can help them. I also want to talk about where property values are.
