Glenn Hadwin, sustainability manager. Um The sustainability advisory board um was approached by Parker Jacobson Bertanzetti, who's a high school junior and she expressed an interest in the board. She's attended the SAB's meetings dating back to June. And the SAB would like to officially recognize um her participation as um by creating a youth a non voting youth chair position as part of the board and appointing her as the first occupant of that uh position.

Okay. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Um I personally as long as it's non voting and also I would want it such if if if we agree to do that, um I would think that it's not a requirement that we fill it every every year or every term, um, but that it's available if a student, you know, or set or a group of students are interested. Um, I think it's great to help uh uh to help inculcate individuals who are interested in s you know sustainability goals of our city and at the same time help mentor them uh so that uh you know they'll be future leaders of our city. So um what does the rest of the commission s seem to think about that? I agree. Okay.

I I think it's a good idea. I I do have a question um in regards to the um up to six one year terms? How does that if you could define like is it starting kindergarten to high school or continuance like high school into um like nineteen into college?

I I think that's a maximum and if it's a non voting position that can be modified it I mean she's a junior You know, I would imagine a lot of anyone who's interested, a lot of them go off to college, so I don't see this particular parker being able it's unlikely she'd participate beyond a couple of years.

Yes. But the opportunity for others who they have the same desire. Right. Um would it be an opportunity for like a eighth grader to say, I want to be a part of this and then I un you say it's up six up to six years. Right. So that's why I'm asking how does what does that look like?

That I I think that's a great question. I don't I don't think the board had quite contemplated how young we could go. Um I think high I think their thought was probably high school students would be the ideal age for to participate. And who
