Good afternoon, everybody. And welcome to the uh City Commission conference meeting this December seventeenth, twenty twenty four. This will be the last meeting that we have for the year and uh I wanna thank you for your patience in waiting for us. We had a closed door session just now and um And uh we are just concluded it. And uh so I would I'd like to uh invite all the members of the commission to Okay, we're we're on the dais now. So um there are a number of items to be discussed this afternoon, s uh several really significant presentations. So um thank you all for being here and uh why don't we begin? Um in our agenda, the first agenda item is a communication from the infrastructure task force and I see Maryland Lomano has signed up to speak.

Okay, here we go. Good afternoon, members of the Commission. Um I am Marilyn Momano. I'm speaking as the Chair of the Infrastructure Task Force. The members of the Infrastructure Task Force are bringing to your attention that the committee was established in December of twenty twenty one and is set to terminate in February, february eighteenth, twenty twenty five. The members of the committee are urging you to take action to renew or establish a committee board task force to continue the work of the infrastructure task force, as established in resolution and of course I put two two two and not the real number, but I think the uh the communication has the real number. Resolution seventeen dash forty three.

The work is ongoing. In our communication to you, we point out why we believe the committee should continue. The original ITF was established in twenty seventeen. Since then, the task force has provided the Commission with recommendations such as eliminating return on investment, holding public workshops in all the Commission districts, adopting a new hybrid structure for stormwater fees, securing additional potable water from the C five canal. Just to name a few. The Commission also asked the committee to review and recommend on specific issues such as reviewing and recommending on the P three for the new water treatment plant, whether a moratorium on development permits was appropriate at the time, and reimagining City Hall.

We are not advocating for any particular form of committee, advisory board, task force. This is a matter for you all to decide. None of us are at this point advocating for continuing our individual roles on whatever committee advisory board task force you form. However, I want to let you know that all of us would be happy to continue to volunteer and we believe there is a great value in historical memory. Thank you for your attention and I'm happy to answer any questions.

So um Marilyn, I I read the commu communication to the city commission and I have an issue and it might be just a technical one, but I don't know if it actually affects the legitimacy of the communication because it says that the motion was made by Chair Momano. Are chairs allowed to make motions?
