Okay. I think the city staff did an outstanding job taking all of our work, comprising the cover memo, and supplying you with the documents of everything we've worked on that we have at this point been ready to uh make recommendations to all of you for your considerations. Um I don't we we know we have ongoing work to do. But this is the work that we have spent the last year and a half basically on doing and we present it to you.
Okay, so um This report was submitted to us. It's dated May tenth, twenty twenty four. Um I'm hoping that uh everyone on the commission has had an opportunity an opportunity to review it. I myself have reviewed it. Um and uh um Is this essentially your report? There's no other opening comments you want to make with regard to it. Otherwise I'll open it up to the Commission for the I think
open up to the Commission. I think I mean we spent hours, hours and and weeks putting this together. Your staff was incredibly wonderful in working with us. You attended a couple of the meetings so you're well aware of what we were doing during the time. Um all the minutes of every meeting was always posted on the website. We had Council of Civic Association attending every meeting. Um so we have very open process shown on YouTube. um which is more than years ago it used to do. And this is the comp you know, the compilation of the work that we've done so far that we recommend is the top priorities to start moving forward for the upcoming November Ballot.
Okay. Um, just a quick question. When when was this submitted to the Council of Civic Associations? Do you recall? Do you mean when was your meeting with the council of city? Well they
attended every one of our meetings. So they liked one of our guest speakers, they would invite the guest speaker to attend their meetings.
Oh Mr. Mayor, I was at that meeting. I was at the this this last meeting they had it they presented. It was last week? They presented, I was there last week.
And and you have to recall in all past years It was the same situation where we did the same thing from 2006 to 2018. It was the same process that we used. Making sure that the public was always aware that minutes were always on meetings and that your staff liaison with the Council of Civic Association always had the full discussions. No different than what you all do with your own district meetings. It's the same process. Well
I I just want to address that really quickly because I'm looking at your minutes from February second, twenty twenty three. Vice Chair Furtig observed that during the previous charter review process there were public meetings in each commission district, followed by central meetings.
That's incorrect. Oh, he was incorrect? Okay. That was incorrect because the only time they did four meetings was prior to two thousand six and they basically had no turnout. So in two thousand six is when we started asking for the city to actually post us live, um, because prior to that it was never even posted live for people to see the actual meetings. So we changed the process. So that every month We went up on YouTube. Um Public always had access, bits were always posted.
