Good evening everybody and welcome to the City Commission uh this March fifth, Tuesday, twenty twenty four. Thank you for being here today. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome and uh like to tell you a little bit of how we begin our meetings. start out with the Pledge of Allegiance and then we go through a few housekeeping things with regard to the agenda. And then uh we have some presentations tonight and we're very proud to be able to recognize uh individuals and organizations here tonight who are important to our community. So if I could please ask you all to rise and if I could get Tyler Brown to come to the podium from Driftwood Elementary is going to join us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Here. So we have a clo a quorum, we have a couple of ag agenda announcements. Um In CR one, uh item Q, page seventeen and eighteen of the CAM were revised. I was just given that myself a few moments ago. Do you have any questions? Uh we can bring it up at the time. Um with that having been said, do I have a motion to approve the agenda? Um There are no minutes, so I do I have a motion to approve the agenda. So moved. Do I hear a second? Second. Move to second it, please call the roll. Yeah.

Yes. And the approval of the agenda has now been made. Now we have begin with our presentations. And tonight I invite our Vice Mayor, Pamela Beasley Pittman, to present a proclamation. Uh And I will ask that Henry Estrada, the Vice President of Club Operations of Boys and Girls Club of Broward County, to please step forward and join the Vice Mayor at the podium. Yeah. Oh great.

Thank you, Mayor, and good evening to everyone. I feel like my back is too sorry. Okay. All right, I'm gonna We see the best side. Okay. I'm gonna laugh with that, okay. I am excited tonight I'm here and I'm able to present the proclamation in reference to women. of Aviation Worldwide Week. And um before I read this, I just want to also um share just a small bit of history, remembering Bexi Coleman as a um initiative first black female to be licensed and a pilot within the United States. So I wanted to acknowledge her as well. In regards to our recognition tonight in our proclamation and recognition of women's aviation worldwide week, March fourth through the tenth, twenty twenty four. Whereas Women in Aviation Worldwide Week is a global aviation awareness week for girls of all ages to mark the anniversary of Ramona Delon LaRouche.
Who earned the world's first female pilot's license on March 8, 1910. Whereas the week showcases women in aviation and promotes awareness of the career opportunities in air and space industries to women and girls. Whereas Women Aviation Worldwide Week is known in its It excuse me, it's now in its fourteenth annual year and recognized by over 501,000 individuals in 56 countries across all continents.
