Welcome and uh uh we have a few things we go through at the beginning, starting out with our Pledge of Allegiance and going through certain agenda announcements and then we have presentations. Tonight we have two presentations, which I will be giving one and the vice mayor will be giving another. Um so um is can I ask if uh uh Yodler Lorore is here or Jen. Jayla Lubin. Are either of you Kids here? No. Okay. They were gonna start us off uh in our pledge, so if I can please ask you all to stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Here. Uh We have uh one agenda announcement, uh CR two, which is the consolidated budget amendment. Uh we're gonna pull that because there's at the request of the city manager in order to make one adjustment to the uh to the item. There will be a walk-on at the end of the meeting as uh regarding a motion uh to approve an event agreement with Baptist Health, uh Iceplex Grand Opening Celebration. It's a district two. And with that, do I hear a motion to approve the agenda as amended and the minutes? So moved. Second. Been moved and seconded. Please call the roll.

We'll get to that. When we get there. Okay. So Vice Mayor. Um Vice Mayor Beasley Pittman will present a proclamation regarding child abuse prevention month in the city of Fort Lauderdale.
And uh while she's going to the podium, if I could please ask Nancy Ajohan from the Guardian Ed Lightem office to please come to the uh did I pronounce that okay? Oh okay, thank you.

Good evening, everyone. I said this the last time I feel backwards. Is it okay if I do this? I don't know how it comes up on the camera, but it just feels wrong to have my back to the audience. Oh, it is with great honor that tonight I am able to read the proclamation from the city of the the city of the mayor, the city of Fort Lauderdale. It is in recognition of the National Child Abuse Prevention Month, April twenty fourth. Whereas averse childhood experiences, including the abuse and neglect of children, can cause severe consequences for children, family, and society as a whole. And whereas every child has a right to a safe, healthy, and happy childhood in which they are educatedly and developedly supported, and Florida's future.
Depends on the healthy development of its children. And whereas it is vital that individuals, businesses, schools, community organizations take action to support the physical, social, and emotional, and educational development and health for all children. And whereas, research shows that parents and caregivers Caregivers who have supported systems and the ability to seek help in times of trouble are more resistant, resilient, and better able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. And whereas, during the month of April, Prevent Child Abuse Florida, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Children and Family, and And the OUNSA Prevention Fund of Florida implements Pinwills for Prevention.
