Good evening everybody and welcome to the City Commission meeting this april sixteenth, twenty twenty four. Thank you for being here tonight and uh we have a lot of exciting uh things happening. The meeting is started. Um for those of you who are here for the first time, welcome and we appreciate your attendance. Uh we begin our meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance and then we go into our presentations. Tonight we're going to have five presentations and presentations are normally where we recognize individuals or organizations or events that the city finds important to the community and which community members participate. So if I could begin the uh the meeting tonight by asking Jason Joseph and Ishmael Hull.

Uh wait. You're welcome. You liked it when we had it there for you. Uh there's a walk on presentation where Commissioner Herbst is going to be delivering one regarding financial literacy month. Ann, for being here. So we're gonna take care of this and then please hopefully you'll say a few words for us. This is from the Office of the Mayor, City of Fort Lauderdale, proclamation in recognition of National Therapy Animal Day. Whereas thousands of pet partners, therapy animal teens are diligently serving in communities across the United States, and whereas scientific research provides evidence that interactions with therapy animals contribute significantly to reducing stress, alleviating depression, regulating heart rates, reducing blood pressure, and strengthening the immune system. And whereas within the city of Fort Lauderdale, therapy animal teams play an indispensable role in improving human health and well-being through the bond we share with these animals.

And whereas therapy animal teams extend their support to a diverse array of individuals in our community, including veterans, seniors, patients, students, and those nearing the end Of their lives. And whereas these remarkable therapy animals, alongside their human companions, provide solace and healing to those in distress.
