What opening remarks and roll call are made at the start of the meeting?
Hey, good evening everybody and welcome to City Commission meeting this July second, twenty twenty four. This will be the last meeting we have before our summer break, so thank you for being here tonight. Um for those of you who are here for the first time, uh welcome and we uh want to just let you know we start out with the Pledge of Allegiance, make a few announcements, and then that follows with some presentations tonight. We are honored to have our State Representative Chip Lamarca here tonight who will be making a presentation and then there'll be a couple more um pr um presentations after that. So having said that, I wonder if I could all ask you to please rise and join me in the pledge. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, liberty, justice for all.
Thank you. So uh I wonder if you could all just um join us all for a moment of silence.
Okay, thank you. Madam Clerk, please call the roll.
Commissioner Herbs. Vice Mayor Glassman?
Here.
Commissioner Beasley Pittman? Here. Commissioner Sturman?
Here.
Mayor Trantalis.
Here. We have full attendance. Um couple of agenda announcements. Uh the first presentation was removed. We're gonna do it at a later date. OSR one exhibit one, the resolution was revised to include the ordinance number, which is C dash twenty-four-thirty-four. And staff has re has requested that M eleven be removed from tonight's agenda. With regard to R five exhibitions. M eleven eleven. Is removed. Yes. Okay. Okay, and then staff has uh indicated that there was a scrivener's error on exhibit two to R five. Um and that's on the plat shown on page four, but it's going to be corrected for the second reading. So this is the first reading of the of an ordinance, so it'll be corrected for the second reading and you can discuss with staff what that scrivener's error is.
So having said all that, uh do we have a motion to approve the minutes and the agenda as amended. Yes, sir. Um City Manager, just one quick question on that item that we're removing. I am a little concerned about one thing. Um that involved the algae algae side also, that piece of it. And I understand We're not actually paying for the algicide, but it's in reserve should there be a bloom over the is there any uh I mean
any danger? We're not gonna be meeting for another six or eight weeks. Any danger delaying that particular item.
So we are going to be a putting into place a a b a bridge contract to cover until um we have our August twentieth meeting.
Okay, for out decide particularly in case we get a blue. Okay. Right. You see what I'm getting at. Yeah, so they're
gonna they're gonna continue the existing contract with the existing vendor on a month to month basis until until we get around to this item. Okay. So should there be a bloom we could ramp up and take care of it? Right. Okay, good. And Mayor, just one question now we're talking about it. So city manager, um Susan, why are we this was deferred from the last meeting to this meeting and I thought it was gonna happen tonight. So Anything that we need to be concerned about? Why does it keep getting deferred?
So I had received information today um because one of the issues had to do with if a a a vendor um was notified about the the opportunity to put a bid in. Um I received information today that one of our staff gave them information that they had the correct commodity code. Um so I I just really want to do the right thing and rebid that out.
Okay, thank you. Okay, so d do I hear a motion to approve the minutes and the agenda as amended. So moved. It moved to the second. Second, second. Please call the roll.
Commissioner Thurman? Yes. Commissioner Herbst? Yes. Vice Mayor Glassman? Yes. Commissioner Beasley Pittman?
