Good evening everybody and welcome to the City Commission meeting this august twentieth, twenty twenty four. For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome. And uh just to let you know that we begin our meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance and then we have a moment of silence, go through a little a few business items and then We will also begin our meetings with presentations. Tonight we have one presentation, which will be presented by uh Commissioner Beasley Pittman. So to begin the meeting, may I ask you all to please rise and join Haley Nixon and Juliana Rivero at the podium with me so that we can do the pledge.

Okay. Um So uh let us begin a moment of silence and as we have our moment I'd like you all to keep in your prayers uh the passing way of Stanley Tate, uh Vice Mayor Um Glassman spoke about him this afternoon. uh well respected member of our communities. Thank you.

Here. Uh before we begin I just want to announce uh some retirements in our community. Um Uh f for in the month of August we have quite a few people retiring after many, many years of service to our city. Uh, first George Oliva, chief building compliance inspector, been with us for sixteen and a half years. Uh Mimos uh Bertoni. She's been uh in our p administrative aid in our police department. She's been with us for six years. Anthony Davis Worked in our public works department twenty six years. Uh Leonardo Stutz. In our parks and rec uh department been with us thirty one years. Uh Victor Pires, uh police sergeant, been with us for five years. Glenn Davis, building inspector, five years. Andrea Walters has been in human resources.
She's been with us for twenty eight and a half years. Uh Jerome of uh Pullium, who's been in public works, been with us for twenty two and a half years, and finally Gainas Wright, uh a lifeguard. P part of our parks and recreation department, been with us for thirty two years. So congratulations and thank you for your service. to our community. Very much appreciated. We have a couple of chang we have a couple of agenda announcements. R five is being removed from the agenda as per the city manager. Um and changes in our agenda. Ph two, there's a new exhibit three. And Ph three, there's a new exhibit six. I believe those were emailed to us earlier. So do I hear a motion to approve the minutes and the agenda as amended?

As the cost of owning a pet continues to rise, Broward County Animal Care aims to be the agency to ease the financial commitment associated with Came for your furry friends. This evening I'm inviting the residents of Fort Lauderdale. To participate in two events aimed at keeping money in your pockets. On August 21st and 23rd, that's tomorrow and Thursday, we'll be hosting a discounted microchipping and rabies clinic from nine AM to two PM.
