Uh we're not usually in this location, but it's certainly very nice for the um Brouwer Center to accommodate us until we find our new permanent place. So in our meetings, we uh we start with the Pledge of Allegiance and uh follow by a moment of silence, which I would invite you all to share in. And then we uh Go into presentations. Presentations are where we recognize individuals, events, or uh important um activities within our city. And tonight there'll be three presentations, and um we'll get into those just in just a moment. So I would invite Charm Brooks, who's the first grader at Oswell Park Play Program, to join me at the uh podium.
So we'll all say the Pledge of Allegiance.

The first presentation we have tonight, I'd like to welcome Evan Goldman, who's the public affairs director for the Jewish Federation of Barrar County to the podium. And Vice Mayor Glassman is going to present a proclam proclamation regarding International Holocaust Remembrance Day here in the city of Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Goldman. We have two Mr. Goldman's.

It's not my first radio now. Thank you. I'm okay. Thank you very much, Mayor and Commission. Uh and thank you very much this evening for being with us. I'm very pleased to read this proclamation on behalf of the Office of the Mayor, City of Fort Lauderdale. This is a proclamation in recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January twenty-seventh, twenty twenty five. Whereas the founding principles of the United Nations are rooted in the commitment to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war and to uphold human rights, dignity, and justice for all. And whereas the Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms that every individual is entitled to life, liberty, security, and freedom of thought, conscience, and religion without distinction based on race, religion, or any other status.
And whereas the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazi regime resulted in the systematic murder. Of six million Jewish men, women, and children, millions of Poles and Slavic people, disabled individuals, Romani people, and countless other innocent victims, serving as a grave reminder of the dangers of hatred, bigotry, racism, and prejudice.
