Good evening everybody and welcome to the City Commission meeting for this October 23, 2025. Thank you all for being here tonight. I see we have a very lively bunch of people here. If we could all find a seat and so we can begin the meeting. We have a number of guests here tonight and we have a lot of opportunities to present and recognize individuals and organizations during our presentation session. For those of you who are here for the first time, I WELCOME YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT. AND WHAT WE DO WHEN WE BEGIN OUR MEETINGS IS WITH THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, AND THEN WE HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE, WE HAVE CERTAIN ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND THEN WE GO TO OUR PRESENTATIONS. TONIGHT WE HAVE FOUR PRESENTATIONS IN WHICH MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION WILL ASSIST US IN MAKING THOSE PRESENTATIONS.

IN THIS CASE, WE ARE HERE TO RECOGNIZE AND THANK GABRIELLA AGUILAR, WHO'S BEEN A SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT IN OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT. SHE'S WORKED WITH US FOR 19 YEARS. AND THE FIRST PRESENTATION HAS BEEN OFFERED TO ME TO BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE AN IMPORTANT INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS COME TO FORT LAUDERDALE IT WAS PART OF OUR SISTER CITY PROGRAM THAT WE RECOGNIZE AND PARTICIPATE IN FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. AND TONIGHT, IT'S MY PLEASURE AND MY HONOR TO RECOGNIZE MAYOR ANGIE BELL, WHO IS FROM OUR SISTER CITY IN HAITI, CAP HATION, AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MAYOR BELL CAN JOIN ME AT THE PODIUM. LET'S HAVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE.

SO THERE ARE A FEW COMMENTS I'D LIKE TO MAKE AND THEN I'D LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO SAY A FEW WORDS FOR US, OKAY? ALL RIGHT. SO MAYOR BELL SERVED AS THE GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE SISTER CITY'S INTERNATIONAL CAP HAITIAN CO-CHAIR AND HAS RECENTLY BEEN APPOINTED THE MAYOR OF OUR SISTER CITY OF CAP HAITIAN, HAITI'S SECOND LARGEST CITY AND THE ONLY CITY IN HAITI WITH DIRECT AIR SERVICE TO SOUTH FLORIDA. Many of us remember December 2nd, 2020, when Spirit Airlines Flight 350 marked Cab Haitian's 350th anniversary. Wow, long time. And the resumption of service from Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport following the pandemic paused.
