Good morning, everyone, and thank you for joining us on this special occasion as we swear in our newly elected and re-elected officials. My name is Susan Grant, and I have the honor of serving as the acting city manager here in the city of Fort Lauderdale. Um, but the bigger honor is to be able to officiate this today. Um, this ceremony is a time to celebrate leadership, community, and And the dedication of those who have chosen to serve our city. Um, today we reaffirm our collective commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant and resilient Fort Lauderdale. Each of the leaders being sworn in today brings a unique perspective, a wealth of experience, and an unwavering passion for our community, and together they will help guide us through the opportunities and challenges, ensuring that Fort Lauderdale continues to strive um for thrive for generations to come.
On behalf of the city staff, all twenty seven hundred of them here at the City of Fort Lauderdale, I want to express gratitude to our elected officials for their service. Um we look forward to working with you to achieve the goals and vision of our city. Um and a special thanks to outgoing um Commissioner Warren Sturman for your service, and he's here today. So thank you, Warren.
Um I'd like to recognise County Commissioner Robert McKenzie, who's also in the audience. Hey Commissioner. And along with all our department directors and assistant city managers, I want to also say hello to my colleagues um and fellow charter officers. Um interim city attorney um Dwayne Spence is here, along with City Auditor Pat Riley, not the basketball coach, and City Clerk David Solomon. Um so thank you for everything you guys do for the city as well. And you know, and in the audience, so you know, we have all these seats here and for family, friends and neighbors, and for those watching at home, thank you for the support of our leaders. I know that it's super important to them. Um, your engagement is what makes Fort Lauderdale such a d dynamic and connected community.
Um so we're gonna begin today's ceremony with the presentation of colors by the Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Color Guard.

God of heaven, Master of the World, look favourably upon the city of Fort Lauderdale. Bless these extraordinary individuals, chosen by thousands of people who have placed their faith and confidence in them to lead our city. May Dean Torellis, Commissioners, John Herb, Stephen Glassman, Pam Bisley Pittman, and Ben Sorison further bless these distinguished leaders that they may recognize that this is a God given Position that in the performance of their duties our elected officials, they are performing one of the biblical seven universal laws in order to ensure a peaceful and moral society governed by laws which are based on the recognition and acknowledgement of you, God, as the sovereign ruler of all men and women in all nations.
Grant us, Almighty God, that these leaders be aware of your presence and that by laboring for the betterment of our City, they are doing your will. May each of them be endowed with divine inspiration to lead with a spirit of wisdom, a spirit of understanding, a spirit of counsel, in being selfless, devoted, visionaries, courageous, and above all humble.
