Okay, thank you. All right. I am going to start the meeting. Uh we can we can do information items and take information. We cannot take votes without a quorum on the day is. Um I do not I I know that Mr. Kirshner said he won't be here until six. Mr Mr. Um Turner said he would be late. Mr. Buffington won't be here at all. Mr Mr. Laterno won't be here tonight at all. And Mr. Sainz, I'm not sure he's not here yet either. So I w with the exception of Mr. Turner who I know is running late and Mr Uh Mr. uh Kirshner, I don't haven't heard I don't know when Mr. Saints will be here. And I'm you know, I am the daughter of military, so I'm pretty timely. And so we're gonna start the meeting and they will arrive when they arrive.

Okay, I'm going to call the November 9, 2023, Loudoun County Board Supervisors business meeting to order. This room has a hearing loop. Um for my words of inspiration tonight. Um I will say that we just um um I I almost it endured. But we just w we would we just have the The great pleasure that only democracies are allowed to have to go through an election. And no matter how hard and bruising they are. uh to be able to go vote um for the person of your choice is something that is uh quite frankly I think um a right, a responsibility and quite frankly a blessing.
I was um about six years old when my grandmother took my hand and walked me to Park Hill Library to go vote. In Denver, Colorado, and it was cold outside. And if you're six years old. and you're walking about six blocks to go vote, it's a really long walk. And we got back I was crying and whining and yada yada and My grandma sat me down and and clearly told me what we just did and why and that people um died so that I could do that. And so voting for me is kind of sacrosanct. And so the quote I will say is from Plato. And it says democracy. And is charming is a charming form of government. Full of variety and disorder. and dispensing a sort of equality to equals and unequals alike. I like that quote about democracy.
Would everybody please join me the Pledge of Allegiance? I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Okay. I will read the consent agenda a little later. Um right now what we're going to do is we're going to we're going to go to the two um information items and the first information item is the s significant incident report. Would um our Sheriff's Department please come to the table?

Good evening. Good evening, Chair Randall, members of the board. Um happy to be able to present the significant incident report on behalf of Sheriff Mike Chapman. Um a few things um real quick before I get into the actual um report. And one uh I'd just like to take a minute to introduce Teddy Colonel Bob Mosier. Um it's the first time appearing in front of the board. Um Bob joined us back in June. Um he's got over 30 years of experience, um, federal, state, local law enforcement. Uh he was the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security uh for Virginia and he's worked for Department of State, Department of Defense, um and the International Justice Mission. So
But he still needs to have like uh you know some some some abuse from the board, some you know, that kind of stuff.
