Congratulations to the flag of the United States of America. And the C Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. We're all sitting real hard right now. It's hitting a little harder right now. Pursuant to Virginia Code, Section 2.2-3708.3, and the Board of Supervisors Rules of Order. Supervisor Laterno and Supervisor Umstadt have requested to participate by in this meeting by electronic communication. A physical quorum of the Board of Supervisors is present in the boardroom. That's five of us. And the board has made arrangements for the voices of both. supervisors to be heard by all persons in the boardroom. Supervisor Laturnal and Supervisor Umstadt made these requests within the required time frame.
Phyllis J. Randall 11:34
And the accounting attorney determined that the request met the qualifications to participate remotely. The board will record this minute the Supervisor Laterno participated remotely from his home due to medical reasons. Supervisor Umstadt participated remotely from Newburgh, Newburgh, I think it is, New York, due to a medical reason as well. And I've checked already, both of them can hear. me um right now.

First of all, everybody, welcome back from August Break. Um unfortunately during August break, we did lose one of our first responders. We lost a firefighter, firefighter cap Captain Donnie Wilson. Um later on in the meeting, John Myers is going to come in and speak about uh Captain Wilson. At that time, we will have a moment of silence for uh Captain Wilson. Supervisors, without exception and for the first time since I've been on this day is I'm going to ask that you uh we allow a person not to have two and a half minutes but to have four minutes as uh as Mr. Myers speaks about um Captain Wilson. I I believe that for somebody who's given as much sacrifice to Loudoun County as Captain Wilson has, it we can certainly allow a a bit more time for him to be um um
Phyllis J. Randall 12:55
for him to for him to be talked about and Mr Myers to discuss or or firefighter Myers to discuss him when we when he comes in. So without objection, and again for the first time and probably only time ever, we're gonna go from two and a half minutes to four minutes for for Mr Myers when he when he arrives. Okay? Um, I do not believe there are any additions or deletions to the agenda. I know that I do not have any. I don't believe anyone else has any deletion or deletion to the agenda either. Is that correct? All right. Well then I'm going to read the consent agenda. The consent agenda is as follows. Proclamation to recognize September 4th is polis polycystic kidney disease awareness and approval. Um well awareness, Dave, that's for approval and preparation.
Phyllis J. Randall 13:38
Presentation. Mr. Um Vice Chair Turner, you're gonna join me down front and you will read that proclamation. Proclamation to recognize the 24th and I don't know if I like the word anniversary, commemoration might be a better word, of September 11th as a day of remembrance and patriotism.
