All right. Good evening, everyone. I would like to call to order the July 28th, 2025 Transportation and Land Use Committee meeting. This room has a hearing loop. So pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3708.3 and the Board's Rules of Order, Sylvia Glass requested to participate in this meeting by electronic communication. A physical quorum of the TLUC is present in the boardroom and the committee has made arrangements for the voice of Supervisor Glass to be heard by all persons in the boardroom. Supervisor Glass made this request within the required time frame and the county attorney determined that Supervisor Glass' request meets the qualifications to participate remotely.

All right. So today is the start of our public input session, which we just added. And we have three speakers here tonight to speak on the items on the agenda. Speakers will be called in the order in which they registered to speak. If you are in the boardroom or lobby, please come to the podium closest to you and state your name for the record. The timer on the podium will indicate your remaining time. When your time has expired, please yield the floor to the next speaker. Pursuant to section XIV.J of the board's rules of order at TLOC, public input should be limited to the items included on the meeting's agenda. All speakers will have a maximum of two and a half minutes, except as otherwise noted, to address the committee, whether speaking as an individual or as a representative of any group or organization.

Wow, I didn't realize I was first. Yes. Good afternoon, Chair Ciccone, members of the TILA committee. My name is Michael Capretti and I stand in front of you tonight on behalf of NBBIA to speak on item two, the administrative and legislative land use assessment. And while you're going to hear an update later on where we are as industry, we just wanted to tell you that We're very happy how we're coming out of the gate here. Some committees a little faster than other committees, but some committees are a little more technical than other committees. But I think you will, without stealing Mr. Crowbass' thunder and Nancy's thunder, I think you're gonna see some improvements coming through very quickly on some of the things so that we can check some boxes.

And I wanted to let you all know that from a industry perspective, our steering committee is three people from NVBIA, three people from NAOP, and one person from the chamber. So we're pretty well represented. And then just from NVBIA's perspective, we have 36 people taking part in across the district. 11 or 12 i always get it wrong 11 committees so we're we're very excited things are going in the right direction and i will say to staff's credit they've started to take shots at what we're doing wrong and you all have heard me say that needs to happen and i won't turn around to staff but they know that we have some things we need to improve to and we're looking forward to getting through the process so thank you very much i i yield my time
