What agenda items are approved at the start of the Board meeting?
201 on Tuesday, December 2025. I am now calling this meeting to order, and I would like us to begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. So please stand if you are able.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands,
All right, before we get into approval of minutes, I want to acknowledge that Supervisor Andrea Bailey is not here today. She lost her mother. So, you know, I know that's a tough time for everyone. And I'm realizing that I skipped over our moment of silence. So I would like to dedicate this moment of silence to her and her family.
All right, thank you. I also want to note that Supervisor Vega is not here. She is attending a conference on behalf of the county. So with that, let's move on to agenda item number three, approval of minutes.
So move, Madam Chair. Second.
It's been properly moved and seconded. Did anyone have any questions, anything they'd like to change? All right, let's go ahead and take the vote.
Vote unanimous supervisors Vega and Bailey absent from meeting and all subsequent votes.
All right. We do not have anything for agenda item number four and that's accommodations and proclamations. So we are going to move on to the consent agenda. Before I begin, does anyone have anything that they would like to pull from the consent agenda? Seeing nothing, I'd like to go ahead and get a motion for 5A through 5C.
So moved. Second. Second.
It's been properly moved and seconded. Is there any discussion? I don't see anything, so let's go ahead and take a vote.
How does the Board handle public comments and public hearings?
All
right, we are going to move on now to public comment time. Do we have anyone sign up to speak in person?
We do not have anyone in person. I don't believe we don't have anyone online, correct? So we do not have anyone who has signed up to speak in person or online. So I'm going to go to agenda item number seven, and that is the public hearings. We have two items, 7A and 7B. Before I open the public hearings, does anyone have any questions on the dais about anything they want to ask of staff? I DON'T SEE ANYTHING, SO I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR 7A AND 7B. DO WE HAVE ANYONE? WE DO NOT HAVE ANYONE SIGNED UP TO SPEAK IN PERSON. DO WE HAVE ANYONE ONLINE? WE DO NOT HAVE ANYONE SIGNED UP TO SPEAK ONLINE. SO I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR 7A AND 7B. I WOULD LIKE TO GET A MOTION TO MOVE FORWARD WITH 7A AND 7B.
SUPERVISOR, I'M SORRY.
I'll move it.
All right. I'd like to get a second second. It's been properly moved and seconded. Is there any discussion? Supervisor Gordy.
Madam chair. Thank you. Um, on item seven, a, is this a friendly taking or is this, um, or is this something that we're having to do without the support of the current owner of the land?
Supervisor Gordy, it's great to hear things like friendly taking. Madam Chair, members of the board, Rick Canizos, your Director of Transportation. Supervisor Gordy, that's a great question. We are actually doing this just on a more procedural matter. The individuals in this matter are in the middle of some refinancing. They didn't want this to disturb it, so we're moving forward with this as a condemnation and coming back to them.
Okay.
So in a way, the answer to your question is yes. Okay.
All right. That's what I mean. Thank you. Yes.
Does anyone else have any questions?
Supervisor Gordy.
What budget requests and staffing needs does the Commonwealth Attorney present?
On item 7B, I really want to thank Rick and the team for all the work on this. This is a cut-through road between Rollins Ford Road and Glen Kirk. It's a route that I travel quite a bit, and this speed hump is absolutely needed to help slow people down. And it's just one big curve is all it is, so it is hard to see through the whole path through there. So thanks, Rick, for all your team's work on all that.
All right, thank you so very much. I do not see anyone else in the queue, so let's go ahead. I'd like to call for the vote.
All
right, thank you very much. We are now on to agenda item number eight, and that is county executive time. Mr. Shorter, the floor is yours.
All right, thank you very much, Madam Chair, members of the board.
