Good afternoon. For 60 years, the Rotary Club of Woodbridge has demonstrated exemplary commitment to the health, welfare, and advancement of the residents of Woodbridge and Prince William County. Members of the Rotary Club of Woodbridge have lived the Rotary motto, service above self, through longstanding civic projects, scholarship programs, community partnerships, and volunteer service that have measurably improved the quality of life across our county. Their contributions to education, public health, youth development, disaster response and charitable causes have strengthened neighborhood institutions, supportive families in need, and inspire successive generations of community leaders. The Rotary Club of Woodbridge has worked collaboratively with local government, non-profit organizations, schools, and businesses to address community needs and promote civic engagement throughout Prince William County.

Thank you, Chair Jefferson, Supervisor Franklin, and members of the Pennsylvania County Board of Supervisors. Good afternoon and thank you for recognizing our 60th anniversary, giving me this opportunity to speak. I'm Dexter Montgomery and I'm honored to stand here before you as president of the Woodbridge Rotary Club as we celebrate 60 years of service above self across Prince William County and throughout the surrounding communities. Chartered in 1965, our club has spent six decades building friendships, developing leaders, rolling our sleeves up, and making a meaningful difference right here at home. Over the years, our members have supported a wide range of local, international charities and initiatives that reflect the best of Prince William County.

Among the organizations we've partnered with are the Good Shepherd Housing Foundation, Acts in Community Through Service Acts, the Arc of Greater Prince William, the Salvation Army, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, Boxes of Basics, and the Rotary Global effort to eradicate polio through In Polio Now and Polio Plus. These partnerships are truly the heartbeat of our service. I would also like to highlight one of the most inspiring examples of grassroots determination and civic collaboration in our county's history, the creation of the Potomac Hospital, now known as Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. Potomac Hospital began as a community-driven effort, local citizens, civic groups, business leaders, and volunteers across the county behind the vision of establishing a hospital right here in Woodbridge.
