All right, everyone. We are, I am calling this meeting to order. Today is Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025. Let's begin with a moment of silence.
All right, thank you. If you are able, please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
All right, before we get into the meat of today's meeting, we have a couple housekeeping things. First, I wanted to get a motion to waive, hold on, let me see this for a second, to waive the rules of procedure and approve a request to participate remotely through electronic communications means.
So moved, Madam
Chair. Second. All right, let's go ahead and take a vote on that.
Supervisor Gordy absent from vote. Supervisor Vega absent from meeting.
And now we can bring Supervisor Gordy online. And I just want to let everyone know we have a quorum. Supervisor Gordy will be participating remotely, but he does not count towards our quorum. So because of that, I am going to take, no one can leave this day as we're all held hostage. So after public comment time, I heard some legal speak. I don't know. After public comment time, we are going to take a short break. So for those of you who are here for the duration of the meeting, we're going to take a five-minute break or something and then come back and resume the rest of the meeting. But right now, we're moving into agenda item number three, and this is my favorite time. The only thing I hate about when we do accommodations and proclamation, everyone leaves after this.
So we have this, like, nice full crowd... And then everyone leaves. But I would like to go ahead and get a motion for 3A to 3E. So moved, Madam Chair.

good afternoon, everyone. It gives me the ultimate pleasure to present a proclamation on behalf of the County Board of Supervisors. Commend and celebrate the 40th anniversary of Omicron Chi Omega of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. The Omicron Chi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated chartered in Prince William County 40 years ago, has served as a beacon of sisterhood, leadership, and service, carrying forward the rich legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first Greek letter organization established by and for African American women. Since its founding, Omicron Chi Omega has remained steadfast in its commitment to service to all mankind by addressing critical needs in the community through initiatives that uplift families, strengthen neighborhoods, and empower future generations, including education, health and wellness, economic empowerment, and environmental stewardship.
The chapter's members, professional women, community leaders, educators, and of course trailblazers, have served as a role model of excellence and have carried out the vision of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated with grace, dedication, and impact. Therefore, today, the Prince William County Board of County Supervisors hereby commends, celebrates, and congratulates the Omicron Chi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated on its 40th anniversary. its 40th anniversary and expresses the heartfelt gratitude for its distinguished service, leadership, and enduring contributions to the people of Prince William County. Congratulations.
