Our procedure for this public hearing is relatively straightforward. Soon I will swear in citizens who wish to offer testimony for Or against the applicant. After the recording secretary takes attendance to ensure a quorum I would ask her to announce the case to be heard. Then open the public hearing. Invite the contending parties to present their case. in twenty minutes or less, beginning with county staff. then call on citizens who wish to speak for or against the applicant. To ensure mutual understanding, I want you to know that we are mindful of the provisions of Virginia Code Section fifteen point two dash twenty three oh nine in Prince William County ordinance. thirty two dash nine hundred point one zero. These detail guidance for the BZA to adjudicate variants request. Specifically, the code instructs the BZA that variants shall be granted if the evidence shows that the strict application of the terms of the ordinance would unreasonably restrict the utilization of the property.
